Peponi School 2027 Scholarships: Deadline, Assessment Dates, and How to Apply

Peponi School, one of Kenya’s most elite private schools owned by the well-known Kenyatta family, has opened up the application process for its highly sought after 13+ Scholarships and Exhibitions. These coveted spots will go to students who in year 9 – known as Shell – in 2027.

These awards are a big deal – they are meant to identify kids who stand out in academics and extra-curricular activities. By doing so, they get to take part in the school’s great programmes and connect with the wider Peponi community. A social media announcement was made on the school’s Facebook page last Saturday, September 19th.

All the Important Dates for the Application Process

Don’t get left behind, candidates need to get their applications in by December 1st, 2026. Then, invited applicants will be asked to attend a Scholarship Assessment Weekend on January 8th to 10th, 2027.

Applicants for the 13+ entry level scholarships must be – in about year 9 – which marks the start of Peponi’s Senior School. The Senior School covers the age group of 13 to 18 years old.

A Little Bit About Peponi School

Peponi School, which has been around since 1989, is a well-known school that is part of the Peponi Group. This group is entirely owned by the Kenyatta family – one of Kenya’s most influential and privileged families. The school has built up a top reputation as one of Kenya’s top private institutions, serving some of Kenya’s top families from the diplomatic, expat and wealthy East African elite.

The Senior School is situated on a 50-acre site in the Gicheha Farm region, which is part of the Kenyatta family’s ancestral land in Kiambu County. In a different part of town, Peponi House Prep School takes care of the younger students and is located in Kabete.

This school teaches a British-style curriculum with the option of following the AS/A-Level qualifications from Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge International all the way to year 13. It costs KSh 1.45 million per term, which is one of the highest school fees in the country, but prospective students can get advice on where to go to university, and past students have gone on to attend top universities in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and South Africa.

Speaking of which, Peponi School recently had an alumni get-together in Nairobi that brought together former students from all walks of life.
